1. What AI Is Used For
WaterApply uses Anthropic's Claude API to:
- Parse your master resume into structured data when you upload a PDF or DOCX.
- Parse job postings you submit into structured data (title, company, location, requirements).
- Generate a tailored version of your resume against a parsed posting.
- Generate a draft cover letter.
- Generate a draft recruiter outreach message. WaterApply never sends this message; you send it yourself from your own email client.
2. Model Information
The current model used for generation is Anthropic's Claude (Sonnet family). We may change models from time to time as new and more capable versions become available. The choice of model does not change your rights under our Privacy Policy or Terms of Service.
3. How Your Data Flows Through AI
- When you trigger an AI feature, WaterApply sends the relevant inputs (your master resume content, the job posting, the recruiter information you entered, and our system prompts) to Anthropic's Claude API over an encrypted connection.
- The model returns the generated output (parsed fields, tailored resume, cover letter, or outreach draft). We store the output in your account so you can retrieve it later.
- Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through the Claude API for paid customersas of the date of this Policy. See Anthropic's usage and data retention policies for details.
- WaterApply does not train any AI model on your content.
4. AI Limitations and Hallucinations
AI models can:
- Hallucinate. Produce confident-sounding statements that are factually incorrect, including made-up employers, titles, dates, certifications, projects, or metrics.
- Be inconsistent. Produce different outputs for the same input on different runs.
- Reflect bias. Mirror biases present in the data they were trained on.
- Misinterpret your input. For example, treat a sentence as a requirement when it is not, or omit important context.
- Be detected. An employer's applicant-tracking system, AI tools, or human recruiters may detect or flag AI-generated content. We make no guarantee about undetectability.
5. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for everything you do with AI output from WaterApply, including:
- Reading the output before submitting it to any third party (employer, recruiter, platform, person).
- Verifying every factual claim. Resumes and outreach emails are factual representations about you. You are responsible for any inaccuracies in what you submit.
- Removing fabricated content. If the AI invents a credential, job, date, or accomplishment that is not yours, you must remove or correct it before sending.
- Complying with the rules of the platforms you submit to. Some job platforms or recruiters have policies on AI-generated content; respect them.
- Complying with the messaging laws of your jurisdiction (CAN-SPAM, CASL, the EU ePrivacy Directive, etc.) when you send any outreach drafted in the Service.
6. Prohibited AI Uses
You may not use WaterApply's AI features to:
- Fabricate credentials, including made-up degrees, certifications, employers, dates of employment, or accomplishments.
- Impersonate another real person or entity, or claim a connection that does not exist.
- Generate harassment, threats, hate, sexual, or violent content directed at recruiters, employers, or any third party.
- Generate disinformation or misleading claims about a third party.
- Bypass safety measuresin Anthropic's models (so-called "jailbreaks").
- Train or improve a competing AI service using WaterApply outputs.
- Conduct security research on Anthropic's modelsthrough the Service. Direct that research to Anthropic's programs.
- Make consequential decisions about others.WaterApply's AI is intended to draft documents about you, not to evaluate, rank, or filter other people (for example, do not use it to screen candidates or score employees).
- Violate the law or the rights of any third party.
7. No Professional Advice
AI outputs from WaterApply are not legal advice, financial advice, immigration advice, career-counselling advice, medical advice, or any other professional advice. Do not rely on them as such. For consequential decisions, consult a qualified professional.
8. AI and Decisions About You
WaterApply's AI does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects about you. The AI generates suggestions; you decide whether to accept, edit, or discard them.
9. Reporting Problems
If you encounter an AI output that is dangerous, defamatory, contains illegal content, or otherwise violates these terms, report it to waterapply1@gmail.com. Include a description and steps to reproduce it where possible.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy when our AI processing changes (for example, when we switch models or change processors). Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
