1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and provide analytics. We also use comparable technologies such as browser local storage and session storage. References to "cookies" in this Policy include those equivalents.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
We classify cookies under four categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for the Service to function. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
- Functional: remember your preferences and choices.
- Analytics: help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- Advertising: WaterApply does not use advertising or cross- site tracking cookies.

Specific cookie names may change as we update libraries. We will keep this table reasonably current.
4. Consent
When you first visit WaterApply, you are shown a cookie consent banner. You can:
- Accept all— consent to all categories including analytics.
- Essential only— load only strictly necessary and functional cookies.
Your choice is stored in water-consent (local storage) so we do not ask again until your choice expires (12 months) or you clear browser storage. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for waterapply.app or by emailing us at waterapply1@gmail.com.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics cookies are loaded only after you opt in, in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
5. Analytics
We use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and feature usage in aggregate. We configure our analytics provider to:
- Avoid collecting full IP addresses (IP anonymization where supported).
- Avoid cross-site tracking.
- Avoid behavioural advertising.
Analytics scripts are only loaded after you accept analytics cookies. Before consent, no analytics requests are sent.
6. Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings:
Most browsers also support a Global Privacy Control (GPC)signal. Where we are able to detect a GPC signal from your browser, we will treat it as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (although, as described in our Privacy Policy, we do not sell or share personal information for cross- context behavioural advertising as defined under California law).
Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using core features of the Service.
7. Do Not Track
Different browsers offer different mechanisms to express tracking preferences. Because there is no consensus on how websites should respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, WaterApply does not respond differently to DNT. We do respect Global Privacy Control as described above.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when we last revised it. Material changes will be brought to your attention through the consent banner or by email.
